On our never ending quest to find sweet ass places in our beloved country Indonesia, we stumble on a place that is worth your time. The Kei Island, located at the south eastern part of the Maluku Islands. Getting to the Kei Island is an adventure itself, since it has a two hour differences to us from the western time zone (WIB) and theirs is only three airlines that flies to the Kei Islands. Kei Island is famous thanks to Pasir Panjang, this white stretch of white sandy beach, clear crystal ocean, tons of palm trees, just your dream beach. It’s like having the beach to yourself. Do not expect to see a five star hotel here, there is only cottages, homestay, and a few hostel. But that will not matter since you will spend your day outside. They say that they will have a big airport there, let’s hope so.

IFW 2013; CLEAN & SLEEK LOOK FROM KRATON

“Only great minds can afford simple style.”  That exact quote came to me upon recognizing Auguste Soesastro‘s designs. I still remember his show during the Jakarta Fashion Week 2013, last November for his spring/summer collection 2013,  with water as the whole inspiration for his collection. The whole scenery above the ground upon seeing the sea, covered in a nautical mood.

During the Indonesia Fashion Week 2013, it was the same concern and always be the major concern of Auguste through Kraton- his luxury/high end non made-to-measure ready-to-wear collection. In the past  6 months, two of the cities that he called home were immersed in water: a hurricane in New York and the recent floods in Jakarta. We can no longer deny the impact of modern civilization on the environment.



A Pop Up Shop by Lee Cooper

To kick off the year, Lee Cooper launched its Spring/Summer 2013 Collection by setting up a Pop-Up Shop in the heart of Jakarta. The collection features clothing for both male and female and is inspired by the rebellious British youth and their summer time travels. Yes, of course. The battle wins by FPI, only silence  hold by Lil Monster in Indonesia. Maybe, they think, why should us waste our energy for something that 100% will not won by us (ordinary people). I'm not a 'real' lil monster for Gaga, but I love her. She is very creative person who can attract our country leaders (read: FPI). I don't blame for the fight. I just wondering, why our government doesn't take any action to this case (instead off canceled the concert). No one knows, only them, I guess.
